The work involves the construction of approximately 950m of civil ductbank from the new Buckley Bay Substation near Courtenay, BC, east to Highway 19A, two rail crossings; and construction of access road from the substation, up to, and including, the rail crossing.
The scope of this project consists of the installation of the sewer infrastructure, approx. 2000lm of 200mm forcemain and all associated valves, fittings appurtenances and required connections. Retrofit of the existing HMCS Quadra Pump Station, installation of the ventilation system, electrical and instrumentation systems as well as a new meter chamber c/w mechanical piping. valves, fittings, couplings etc. required connections to forcemains. Surface restoration of roads, boulevards, sidewalk and driveways.
Work consists of upgrades to the sanitary, storm and water infrastructures, upgrades to roads and the connection of highway crossing.
Scope includes reconstruction of roads ways, parking lot improvements including the paving. Installation of culverts, headwalls and sanitary sewer forcemains and water mains from Wick Road – Florencia Bay access Road to Wickaninnish Beach Access Road along with the Kwisitis Parking lot.
The works consists of the removal and installation of approximately 22,300m2 of 65mm thick asphaltic concrete pavement, the installation of 2050 tonnes of base course, 1550m2 of 75mm thick asphaltic concrete pavement, 290m2 of concrete sidewalk, 600m of concrete curb, 460m2 of concrete medians, pedestrian islands and ramps, road markings, traffic signs, pedestrian flashers, traffic signal upgrades, landscaping, irrigation.
This project consists of 3 major components:
1) Gravity Sanitary Sewer – involving the installation of approx. 2,100m of sanitary sewer complete with services and associated appurtenances, installation of 9 water services complete with connection to an existing main, installation ditches with culverts as well as street lighting and underground works.
2) Road ‘A’ involving the installation of approx. 145m of sanitary sewer complete with services etc., approx. 320m of watermain complete with services etc., 300m of road construction complete with ditching, culverts, driveways and sidewalks, lot grading , street lighting and under ground electrical.
3) Onsite Watermian- involving the installation of approx. 1,000m of watermain complete with services etc., 200m of sanitary sewer complete with services etc., and approx. 400m of full road construction with ditching and culverts.
The Northfield/Boundary/19a Project consists of the widening of Highway 19A for the installation of an acceleration/merge lane, widening of Northfield Road for the addition of a left turn bay, extension of corrugated steel pipe pedestrian tunnel, removal and installation of concrete retaining walls for pedestrian ramps, modification of a signalized intersection, addition of a signalized intersection, street lighting, approximately 800m of concrete curb, 500m2 of concrete sidewalk, replacement of 100m of watermain, adjustment of sanitary sewer items, installation of 400m of storm sewer piping, and 1500 tonnes of asphalt paving and all other work incidental thereto.
Construction of sanitary lift station complete with detached wet well, valve chamber and metering manhole; construction of approximately 175 lineal metres of 250mm dai. Forcemain; supply and installation of electrical kiosk and standby diesel-powered generator; and miscellaneous appurtenaces and related works located in Chemainus within the Municipality of North Cowichan.
