Interior and Exterior Penstock Recoating.

Construction of a new road, approximately 1.40 kilometers in length.
Municipal infrastructure servicing the road and future lots including:

3rd of 3 year construction project to upgrade failing Penstock at Boralex’s Ocean Falls Hydroelectric facility.

Scope for 2024 includes: demolition of 120 ft of existing Penstock and anchor block, construction of crane pads, fabrication and installation of 4 precast concrete saddle bases, supply and installation of 2 ea 60 ft long x 12 ft diameter steel penstock pieces, pour in place of a concrete anchor block. Barging, crane-work, scaffolding, welding, lining and coating, concrete forming and pouring are among the highlighted tasks for this year.

Construction and Installation. Clearing and grubbing of approximately 8,000 linear meters of new & existing perimeter fence line. Removal of old fence component followed by the supply and installation of new fencing including gates. Drainage improvements and site restoration upon completion.

Strip and recoat four 20-foot diameter flexible couplers sections including surface preparation, including primer coating removal, and recoating for corrosion protection.

Strip and recoat the entire above ground, 1,800-ft penstock exterior, including: surface preparation; abrasive blasting; and application of an exterior coating system.

Construction of two solid waste transfer stations for the communities of Opitsaht and Esowista. Work involves Site Clearing, Excavation, Drilling & Blasting, gravel production, building bin tipping walls & upgrading a barge ramp.
