Upgrades to Ucluelet’s sanitary sewer system:

All of this work is being completed to prepare the groundwork for future roads in a proposed 130-lot subdivision on Snuneymuxw’s IR#3 .

Removing existing median between James Street and Beverly Street and replacing with new median combined with fencing and trees. Electrical modifications to both James and Beverly intersections.

Site clearing and leveling for the construction of a new 2,500m3 bolted steel water reservoir, utility works, retaining wall construction, mechanical and electrical works, surface works and landscaping restoration.

Install water main, sewer and storm drain including clean outs, perimeter drains and systems not directly entering the building but to within .8m to 1m of the building for those services that enter the building perimeter.

Other work to include ESC measures, protection fencing, demo and disposal of existing home & carriage house on site, removal of ex watermain, storm and sewer piping, clearing, grubbing & stripping of site, bulk excavation and backfill of building footprint. Supply of asphalt, line painting and concrete (wheel stops, curbing & flat surface concrete). Coordination with other subs (Mechanical, Electrical, Landscaping) including trenching, bedding and backfilling.

Site clearing, drilling and blasting, grading of private lot for the Nanaimo Brandt Dealership.

The project scope is two main phases.

Approximately 48,000 square feet of the penstock steel inner liner for Units U5 and U6 will be stripped and recoated to restore its protective integrity and ensure long-term durability against corrosion and operational wear.

This is a three-stage process involving:

The supply of labour, materials, and equipment for the construction of sidewalks, bike lanes, and road rehabilitation on Esquimalt Road and Craigflower Road. The work includes underground utility renewals for storm and sanitary sewers using both open cut and trenchless methods, traffic signal upgrades and modifications, and the installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs).
