Replacement of deep (~12m) storm drain infrastructure at the intersection of Moss Street and Point Street in the City of Victoria.
Work includes – Shoring design and excavation to grade, removal of the existing damaged storm drain pipe cleaning, installation of new reinforced concrete pipe and manhole, replacement of adjacent underground infrastructure, and surface restoration.
- Hot tap of 350 mm AC main c/w 850m of 200-300mm PVC watermain and appurtenances along with a significant concrete pad mounted KIOSK and valve assembly.
- Minor electrical works for KIOSK.
- In addition , installation of numerous 450-600mm HDPE culverts and headwalls.
- Project includes full lane surface restoration of Boys Road.
Another exciting project for Cowichan Tribes, Chatwin Engineering and Hazelwood Construction.
Recoating the interior of the 10′ diameter penstock using fully automated technology. This is a 3-stage process involving high pressure washing, abrasive blasting and relining of the penstock. Access is gained through cutting in temporary access hatches and welding back on completion of the relining.
Work also includes the relining of the scroll case interior and the exterior of the turbine inlet valve. Structural repairs to the existing concrete and steel penstock supports is also to be completed.
Work will be completed over a 4-month period with reservoir levels monitored and pumped down as needed. Work also includes cleaning of the stator as park of the generator upgrade project happening concurrently.

Construction of proposed improvements along Peninsula Road between Sea Plane Base Road & Bay Street in Ucluelet.
The improvements generally include:
- Storm system replacement
- Protected bike track
- Traffic calming curbing extensions
- Crosswalk improvements
- Relocation of road centreline and related paint markings
- Landscaping, hardscaping and furnishings
Active Transportation improvements, including protected bike lanes, traffic calming measures, new traffic signals, and pavement markings.
Replacement of approximately 480m of storm sewers and culvert rehabilitation with slip lining, including installation of new headwalls, catch basins and manholes, and treatment facility located airside and landside at Victoria International Airport.
- Replacement of sanitary sewers with removal and installation of approx 560m of 200mm diameter pvc pipe, manholes and service connections.
- Upgrade of storm sewers with the installation of approx 360m of 600mm diameter or smaller pvc pipe, manholes and service connections.
