Recoating the upstream and downstream plug bulkhead surfaces, which serve as the main water pressure barriers during maintenance and normal turbine shutoff.
The upstream surfaces, including the crown plate, stiffeners, cover plates, and closing plate, are heavily corroded and will be recoated. Similarly, the downstream surfaces, which have light to moderate corrosion, will be recoated with the plug in the fully closed position. Additionally, the cylindrical water passageway of the plug will be recoated.
